I was petrol bombed last night ... security questions

As some of you know, I am renovating an office to convert to my house. Last
night when I was in the building with the lights on, someone threw a petrol
bomb at one of the doors - luckily it landed in front of the door, and
burnt out on the path - if it had caught light - who knows what could have
happened.

I looked out, but because there is no external lighting, and we are 200 yds
from the main road, no streetlighting, I could not see who or how many of
them there were.

The police (who arrived after 2 hours) stated it was probably kids - but it
does take a lot of preparation - finding petrol, and then going to the
trouble of travelling a few hundred yards at least to throw it. Thankfully
my wife and kids were not in the building - however my wife is very shook
up.

The property is not fully fenced off yet, but shoul be by this weekend.

The property is very long - 80ft, and accessible both via the ground floor,
and the first floor.

Can anyone recommend any security devices? If someone is determined, I know
I cant stop them doing anything, however if I could capture them on CCTV or
something, then at least I would know who the B******Ds are. Also that
should be a deterrent.

Any advice is welcome.
