The other option is to get a free to air card for your sky box from the
BBC,
they let me choose the post code I wanted it registered to, - I wanted
Meridian on the Card and we receive Carlton at home.

Quoting the Beeb:  A free-to-air card can be obtained free of charge
by
ringing 0870 243 8000.

  Sky basically told me to bug***r off on this one.  I live on
the border
  in wales and we get a better terrestrial signal on Granada than
HTV.
  Sky told me to phone ITV and ITV said it was Sky's fault.  Gave
