I'm almost certainly stating the obvious here, but have you tried the
DD/dts audio tracks also found on DVD-A discs on an ordinary DVD-V
player? Compressed they may be, but they're still rather fabulous, and
multi-channel. Well I like them anyway!

I've been hanging around for a Universal DVD-A/SACD player and we seem
to have many choices all of a sudden, which is just great. Now to
choose one...
