RE: BB exchange triggers?
Thanks Harry - this confirms my worst fears. Tiptree, according to ye
olde
locals, is still a village, even though it's population has increase
7-fold
over the past 4 years, and now sports a Tesco's superstore in the
'village'
High Street. Hhmmmm. The BT building is, as you say small,
built in the
60's, and is probably overflowing with kit that's had to be installed as
the
new houses have gone up around here.
This is a serious problem for me, as I work from home 2 or 3 days a week,
so
need quick access into the office network. With ADSL I can get in via
the
VPN, but on a modem I can't do this, so what are my options? ISDN, HH
or
satellite I guess, none of which appeal. Ho hum.
Pete

I have had some feedback from my contacts on this. The
gist of the
response is:
1) Tiptree is a fairly small town - more of a village (I'm quoting
so
don't shoot me!), so will not figure highly in the ADSL stakes for
some time.
2) "Tiptree B" is one of BT's smallest exchanges in rather
a small
building - in fact it is suspected of being no more than a
'concentrator' for Colchester. Because of the way ADSL works this
will hinder its use for ADSL provision.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings...
Regards,
Harry.
