RE: 2 KAT5 Questions

As Tony says,

VGA is on the "ToDo" list.

I did consider a KAT5 SCART Plate but it would need two cable feeding it to
supply the AV signals and power to drive the electronics. It also goes
against the whole concept of CAT5 in that the flexibility offered by
structured cabling is lost by having a faceplate dedicated to a single
purpose.

I may put it back onto the "ToDo" list after VGA if there is sufficient
interest.

A VGA one is on the "to do" list ISTR.  It would use all available pairs
though, as per RGB, so you'd need a separate audio feed.

The SCART sockets are surface mounted, so you'd have a bit of frigging about
to do.  Without measuring them (no units here) I'd say they might be a bit
too big for a double socket box - however, there should be nothing stopping
you burying the unit and PSU in the wall and running fly leads to a double
socket with just an RJ45 and SCART socket on it.....

Maybe KAT5:Next Gen will be double socket mountable.....

Tony.
