RE: VGA TV tuner module?

It could have been the first "who can thump a Comet salesman"
day... the guy
*really* did not want me to leave the store without stumping up for the
extended "5 year" warranty (in quotes, because that's a complete
lie anyway,
as it counts the already included manufacturers 12 months, so what you pay
is actually only for an additional 4 years...)

they wanted an unbelievable £350 for an extended warranty on a £600 item!!
-
taking the piss or what! - I only paid £200 for the warranty on my £2000
rear-projection set a couple of years ago...

"Because LCD is a new technology sir" was his pitch... New
technology? - MY
ARSE!

I was about ready to thump him one when I was finally able to extricate
myself from his unrelenting barrage of hard sell...

*I HATE BEING SOLD TO, AND I HATE HARD SELL SALESPEOPLE*

If it wasn't for the fact that I knew the Curry's store next door didn't
have any stock (I'd been there first), I would have told him to stuff it
and
bought it somewhere else. (I *really* wanted to take it away rather than
wait for delivery).

By the time I'd managed to get him to hand over the box, so I could run
(not
walk) out of the shop, he'd dropped the warranty price to £200. (so why was
he prepared to rip me off in the first place for the extra £150?)

All in all, *not* a pleasurable shopping experience, and I'll be reluctant
to go to that store again (Sorry Mark).

Still, at least I've got my nice shiny new toy to play with now.. :-)
