No, in fact one should paint the wall any colour she wants so that one
can adorn it with whatever one can get away with in exchange for the
concession on the colour! ;)
In other words: let them win the odd battle while you wage the real
war.

I ran the machine for about 100 hours use on high, switched to the low
setting and tinkered about with it for a week or so and have got, more
or less, the same quality I had from the high setting. On both a
"dark"
room is needed anyway so the differences are negligible IME in picture
quality but the advantages are well worth it.
