And to bounce this right back to the original question...

The Panny AE100 can be run in a "lower" and "higher" light setting the
pros of the "lower" setting are that the noise level is reduced and the
bulb lasts twice as long. The noise on the lower setting is very low
indeed.

The con, as far as I am concerned in this thread, is that you do really
need a decent screen to get the best from this, I don't want a debate
about it as that's my experience and my opinion of it! ;)

I have a Da-Lite screen which performs nicely and I can paint the wall
any colour I choose. :)
