I was thinking of the same thing!  Actually, I've had an idea this
week.
I'm going to permanently mount a PC in the car with a Linux distro
purely
for wardriving.  It'll log access points to floppy disk.  The
idea is that
whenever I'm driving, I'm wardriving.  That way I'll soon pick up all
the
networks in the city :-)
