I have a decent wiring diagram, showing how commercial Voice over CAT-5
adaptors are wired.

If you stick to this, you are all the more likely to be able to just buy a
cheap convertor (philex, for instance, sell them for about 3/4 quid) and
have it work.

On most systems, we only need two wires, and when we install these systems,
we use pins 4/5 in the CAT-5 socket for the signal (A-4, B-5)
