Hi,
Yep,
there
are 127 mails which are being shown, and the folder size was 300mb. And the
user is reporting that her files are missing. .. its now compressed itself
to
28mb.. hmmm.. me thinks I’ll do a restore from a day or so
ago.
*bugger*
not to
worry eh.
Thanks
for
your help!
Jonathan.

Outlook
Issues
Hi
I simply assumed that there are only 127 mails in the pst folder.
I
would assume that one time in the past there were 300 Meg of email
but
that has been deleted.
Does the user think that there are any emails missing?
Regards
Ben

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your speedy response, however, I don't want to reduce
the
size (or at least I don't care) I just want to get the e-mails back
that
are / were / possibly maybe in there !
But I'm compacting it now to see if the folder size is reduced . I
hope
to god that it doesn't reduce itself massively .. otherwise I'm up ess
h
one tee creak without a paddle !!
Thanks,
JT

Hi
try this
Properties for the pst folder, then select advanced and then
compact.
I seems like Outlook does not release the space when you delete
emails

Ben

Apologies for the OT post, but I have a user here with an issue
in
outlook 2k, and her .pst file.
The file is being reported as 300meg, and when you view it, there
are
127 e-mails in there and the file size on average is 2kb. And one
mail
at 15meg.. but that's it .
I've done a search on the file.. and it only finds 127 files and
one
folder (deleted items which is empty)
Can anyone shed any light as to where these files may be ? or what
may
have happened.
I've tried scanpst and it found no errors but said there were 4
folders
and 127 e-mails.
I'm stuck!
If anyone can offer any advice on this, it would be most
appreciated.
Regards
Jonathan.
