Good point actually. Probably be best to separate the votes to see how they differ between “self-install systems” and those installed by a 3rd party.

You'd need to classify the second option - is it the entertainment gained from the end product, or the entertainment gained from installing it in the first place?

I don’t know whether or not it’s been done here before, but how about polling as to what feature persons rate as being the most important of HA.

 

Is it –

1.    Enhanced security

2.    The entertainment aspect (distributed audio/video), home theatre, etc..

3.    The convenience and wow factor of automated scenes (electric curtains+blinds), IR control, etc..

4.    The efficiency, using smart heating controls

5.    PC networking and wireless networks

6.    Lighting control

7.    And the many more associated areas, which I’m sure you guys can think of better than me…
