They've probably got a pre-arrange agreement with the MCPS/PRS alliance.

These organizations can grant certain permissions on behalf of copyright
holders in return for revenue.

The MCPS/PRS had a blanket license for 30 second streamed clips to be
allowed for free, longer
for a fee. That applied to online companies, so it may be similar...
although I am a bit of touch...

(I <try to> run my own label...  :-) )

They aren't ripping the whole song, only the first minute. And they'll have
a restriction which says they can only rip for the explicit purpose of
shop-front display.

Under these circumstances, most record companies will give permission :-)
