Ok im daring to bring up this subject again - sorry if it offends
anyone, especially the moderators and mark mccall.  If Mark or the
moderators really object to this discussion then please delete it.

Rather than this be a flame thread saying yahoo is crap which we all
know please make it constructive. Yahoo does have its goods point's,
those being a mailing list, web interface, files area and a few other
bits. I've suggested a few things below - please feel free to post your
comments as im ONE member of ukha_d.

Put in brief - The yahoogroups situation is getting silly at the moment
its taking forever to distribute the emails to everybody with quite
often long long delays.  This is happening because of the volume of
traffic yahoo are coping with on a global scale of there lists.

Considering the size of yahoo you'd think they would fix this but they
know about the problem for a long while and are ignoring it. One thing
to bear in mind is they don't make a lot of money on the groups lists
bar the advertising they get from it.

What im suggesting we put it to the public poll (under marks and the
moderators permission) like we're doing for the 2003 meet with something
like the following options.

Im happy to stay with yahoogroups even if it has its downfalls at the
moment:
o Yes
o No - Let's find a better alternative that's free
o No - I'm willing to pay a small fee for a commercial list provider
that's known to be reliable.  For example, lyris.com offer this service
(very expensive, but with a little research we could find a better one)
o No - Try and find a sponsored commercial list provider.

Kind Regards,
Chris Bond
