RE: DVD drive
Video production is my business. I use PC based systems with Adobe
Premiere=
on a Matrox Digisuite Max system (3 full length cards, packed with silicon=
) and the Ligos MPEG plugin for Premiere. Only trouble is a system would
co=
st you about =A312K !!!
Seriously though, there are a load of low-end video editing and DVD
convers=
ion progs out there but Premiere is definitely the best for PC use. If you
=
can get hold of it, it's worth it (there is an LE version but I can't
remem=
ber what's cut out of it).
As I posted recently - I use DVDXCOPY to 'backup' DVD's to DVD-R. It works
=
really well and is very simple, automatically copying 9Gb dual layer DVD's
=
to 2 DVD-R's.

I've got an ATI Radeon 8500DV which has firewire, composite, svideo and
rf inputs (but the svideo only works in b&w... no matter how much I
change settings about.... :S )
I had some major problems with some tapes.... stuff that was recorded
off the TV, can copy fine VCR->VCR but was showing Macrovision style
brightening and darkening on the input.... had to buy a Macrovision
removed type blackbox to sort it out.... I *think* the card was
confusing the fuzzyness of the VHS with a Macrovision signal...
purchased tapes work fine, just some of my others.... !
Not been giving it that much attention, but now that I've actually got
my Sony multi format DVD burner, I suppose I will get the motivation I
need... :)
Was Instant DVD a hardware or software product....? What do you have for
video in?
