Re: switching the bell wire...



So not a good idea then!...

totally academic now anyway, as I've just done some more testing and
discovered that my DECT phones (BT Diverse 3000 range) don't use the bell
wire for ringing, and still ring quite hapily whether the bell wire is
connected or not.

Seing as 90% of the handsets in my house are of this type, then that rather
puts the kybosh on the whole idea, as I'm not about to chuck them all away
and buy new ones...
