Done that, the amp plays normally, the hiss is only obvious when there
is no signal going through the amp. It becomes much louder when you
disconnect the left channel input. It is my oldest amp, which leads me
to believe it may have been doing it for a while without me noticing. I
now regularly pass within 8 inches of the rear speakers, where in the
past the closest I would get was 3-4 feet.
