RE: [A bit OT] Length of cable for video
Alex,
It all really depends on
the quality of the cable i.e. how lossy it
is but you shouldn't have a problem over 50 metres. We regularly send
composite video over 100 metres with no problem. The only thing you may
notice is a very slight loss of chroma but you should be able to
compensate
for this on the projector if it is a problem

Subject: [ukha_d] [A bit OT] Length of
cable for video
I was approached the other day at church with a reel of thin screened
cable
and a couple of yellow phonos and asked how to connect them, I ended up
with
the job of doing it as the guy had no soldering iron :-)
I suggested that it would be unlikely that the signal would be usable at
50
metres as requested.
What sort of length is it reasonable to expect to get a signal to run
from
video camera to projector (and still have it watchable) ?
I guess the ideal solution would be to run some cat5 and put in a
Kat5's
either end, but the ideal solution is not always the one the techies
are
allowed to go for :-(
