Bazza,

The obvious monkey is that it fits "between a VCR and a telly" - = ie it sits half-way along a SCART lead.

This means that it ONLY overlays text when you're watching TV through THAT = SCART lead.

- it won't overlay over your TV's internal tuner (of course, with a TiVo, y= ou probably don't) :-)
- if you have a SCART-connected DVD player, you need to run it through the = video (or vice versa, or get two of these boxes)
- if you have an S-Video connected DVD player, then this won't overlay on t= op of that

Just a quick query to see if anyone has any info on the TV Messenger
advertised at premierdirect.co.uk:-

This little gadget looks cool, I was about to start delving into my
Tivo setup and configuring a modem with CLI etc to do this kind of
thing, but at =A334.95 is look like a bargain!!  It even lets you
put 40 index names next to numbers to display on the TV!!

Does anyone knnow if there is a catch?
