Hi

Firstly I guess this is off topic but I know not where else I will get
such helpful replies. Mark if you want this off-list please instruct or
perhaps advise where better to post.

Well I've got my Plasma. A Toshiba unit (Exactly the same as the
Panasonic 5 Series Screen) and a new DVD player, a Pioneer DV-656

I have to say the quality of the picture is awesome. As a temporary
measure I have the DVD connected to the unit via a IXOS S-video cable
and the audio on a QED phono from Audio Out into the Plasma. A couple of
floor standers are acting as speakers connected to the plasmas inbuilt
amp for the moment. I have got a Marantz 5300 AV Amp to connect up to
the 5.1 Sonance speakers in the ceiling but haven't got there just yet.

Only had chance to watch two DVD's. First was Monsters Inc (Thought the
film was fairy average but the picture quality was amazing!) the second
was Star Wars Episode 1, again amazing picture quality BUT the sound was
out of synch with the picture, had a look through the AV forums archive
and to my dismay this seems to be a problem, not being funny but having
spent thousands on this kit I want perfection.

Is this an issue with certain discs? Certain players? Are their any
simple fixes without spending thousands on clever amps, decoders etc?
What are other peoples experiences on this list?

Many thanks

Rob Mouser
