Tim, I've been thinking about one of these types of unit - now my plasma
and VD is old news :-)

Any idea how much they go for (I guess yours came with the car).

Paul.

I've got one in my beemer (the BMW unit is a rebadged MS5000, but the
latest ones come with a DVD drive unit), as has Gareth Cook. It is
pretty good, and can imagine that it will get better, as they get more
customers, and can therefore get real time data. It is very much like
traffic information on the radio - often by the time they tell you about
it the jam has already dispersed. I use it frequently and the
auto-redirect feature does work very well - you get the "Attention! X
miles of stationary traffic ahead" with details on the screen of what is
going on. All you have to do is press on button, and it chooses a new
route for you. I've certainly specced it in my next car.
