I haven't seen any replies to your mail, so will try and point you in the right direction.  I am sure some of the regulars on the list will be a= ble to
help as well.

Very very briefly:

You can use X10 to control electrical appliances and lights.  To do th= is
each 'thing' you want to control must have an X10 module connected to it. On this module you give it an address unique to that appliance in your hous= e
(normally by turning a dial) The address can be anything you want, and you<= BR> have a maximum of 256 to choose from.

To be able to control the device you need to send either and on/off or a di= m
command to the address you chose.  The 'sender' device comes in many f= orms
depending on the modules you but eg PC, remote control, keypad etc
