Hard Wired IR

Hi All

Can anyone answer a quick question? I'm fitting some Xantech IR
receivers this weekend. But am having a mild panic as I was going to use
6 core alarm cable (un-shieled) already in situe. Longest run is about
50' but reading the xantech leaflet that comes with the unit it says use
24 gauge cable for runs up to 200'. I think 24 gauge is around 0.46mm?
But alarm cores are only 0.2mm.

I know Mark has used single cores of cat5 so do you think I'll be OK?

Any advise greatly appreciated caus I wana get on and do it.

Many thanks

Rob Mouser
