You could borrow a welder and make your own framework from square or
rectangular steel tubing, then just get a local glass dealer to supply a
laminated glass top. If you are in Somerset, I could lend you the
welder :-)
Not sure that I like to see all the entrails of the PC and phone etc,
lying on the floor below, though
