Posted here because I know that the moderators of all the UKHA spin off
groups read this list and might be able to help.

Because of the recent spamming of several Yahoo groups I have decided to
protect KAT5-Users as much as possible by setting the list to needing me to
approve requests for membership.

So far ...so good ....BUT .....

The three request I have had since setting the approval have all been
rejected by me because I didnt have a clue who the hell the people were.
Many people choose Yahoo Usernames that bear no resemblance to their true
identity and the profiles of the people I rejected had no information about
the person.

Obviously, any request from someone know to me from one of the other lists
would be approved no problem, but am I just being too paranoid ?

Does the requester receive an email saying they have been rejected ?

There doesnt seem to be a means to pass any additional information with the
request to join so that the requester could give their true identity to the
approver of the list yet still retain a certain amount of anonymity to other
list readers.

What is the "right" way to go about this ???

Thanks

Keith
