Speaking from my current experiences (house hunting , looking to move
back to UK), I would personally not even consider a house that said
it was a semi but only had a 6" gap between it and the next house.
This sort of thing is very common in Holland where so called detached
houses are 6" apart on either side. That's why we spent a bit more,
our nearest neighbour's house is 15m away (although the boundary and
hence garden is closer)..

My main concern would be how sound would travel.

Of course this could just be the snob in me... but I like my privacy,
I like to somtimes jack the volume right up when watching an action
movie etc, the last thing I'd want is a neighbour knocking on the
front door asking me to turn it down...

I would have thought (not a lawyer blah blah) that a reduction in the
value of your property would be a good enuff reason to object. Have
you talked to your neighbour about it?

Probaby all irrelavant anyho.. but there you go... Scotland is
looking more and more attractive in terms of value for money and
getting a bit of distance between neighbours...

Of course me moving into an area will cause house prices to drop
anyway :P but there you go...

Andy
