You should have charged more for all that wifi kit and bought a tron
with the profits :D

You don't actually need a server side component with the tron - that's
one of the nice things about it.  I'm vaguely considering NAS for
storing my music, so the tron should be able to see that no probs.  Even
without considering this, I don't like the idea of being tied to a
program that works under a particular OS as too often, OSes move on but
your programs (for now outdated systems) do not and you are buggered
because the proggie won't work on Windows XP 2010 or whatever :(

As I said in the review, the difference sound wise between the two is
less noticeable using an external amp - but for me, the dodgy controls,
LCD etc still steer me towards the AudioTron.  Also, from a SWMBO POV,
having normal transport controls she is familiar with, she is more
likely to use it than the Rio which is less intuitive.....
Thanks to your wifi buy, I can control the tron from my iPaq & SWMBO can
use the old fashioned hard buttons on the front - so everyone is
happy....

I would suggest, if you want to expand you system in the future, that
(money permitting) you get at least one Audiotron, as you can happily
run it side by side with the DDARs, accessing the same server.
