I apologise for following up a message on here to give my version of
the
facts. I have made my views clear to TiVo customer services already,
politely and unemotionally! :-)
In future, I'll keep my mouth shut if I have anything other than
positives
to say about TiVo. Other than this issue, I am very happy with TiVo
though.
I tested Showshifter and didn't like it at all, so I went ahead and bought
a
TiVo and it was a great decision.

It does

It doesn't admittedly, but only because they've set aside some hard
disk
space just for these promotions. My view is that they have no right to
reserve space on 'my' disk for their adverts.

It can't be deleted (except through backdoors)

For this program, that was not the case. It seems that the program has
disappeared from the menu this morning, so it may be that they have
taken
the complaints on board.
