Phil,
AIUI the linked site talks about the algorithm that extracts the ideal
volume compensation and stores it in the metadata.
The program doesn't quite do this. It extracts the ideal volume, and then
"calculates the amplified MP3", and writes it back as a normal
MP3, IYSWIM.
Hence, no special player required.

Replying to my own email ... Looking through the "bumph" on the
linked
website it says no players support it yet. What about DDARs and
AudioTrons?
