Amar I don't think price is the main consideration when you consider the fact that you need a PC to run showshifter. Add to that the cost of the bits of software, an IR interface and a tv card and I think Tivo probably has the edge on price.

 

If you have an underutilised PC fine...but no way would I want showshifter running on my main PC or even my HA PC.

 

Additionally showshifter is never going to be acceptable to the vast majority of swmbos.

 

Lets leave the subject now.......unless anyone else wants to discuss it in whch case lets post some more ;)

I really thing you guys going on about tivo have lost the plot.
You seem to miss that a lot of the people that have opted
For showshifter or something very similar is PRICE!

It has been said enough times that a lot of the decisions
are based on PRICE. So no matter how much you go on about
how good it is it makes little sense when the is a big price
difference between the two.
