Sorry Mark,
Just got these explanations. I'm just too quick for yahoo :-).
- I don't have Sky box, but I suppose that can be sorted (I agree, probabbly
complicated, but in my case not important).
- since I have Fuji with wireless kit, I suppose it can be used as a remote
with DigiGuide running there. Then it would be perfect and more functional
than ordinary remote.
I can even display DigiGuide on TV, I suppose. Again, I cannot comment
quality because I don't have it installed yet. Maybe someone else can.
I have wireless keyboard, but I can buy wireless mouse as well and do the
things on screen....
- DigiGuide can select all Tommorrow Worlds as your favourites, can do smart
searches by keywords etc. So probably functionality is similar. Probably
covers even more channels. There are many skins to choose and different
plug-ins for DigiGuide, printing functions etc, so there's even some plus in
using DigiGuide as GUI.
- Apparently, it's possible to pause live program if that's what you mean.
It says so on their site. Probably it's possible to playback something
recorded while recording new stuff. At least you can playback AVI or MPEG (I
don't even know the format) in MediaPlayer, while ShowShifter is recording.
- My Mrs can probably use it (if I set up everything properly), but will she
love it - I'm not sure.
- I think that DigiGuide can select suggestions and similar, but I never
used those advanced features before, there was no real need for it. But
being able to record directly from digiguide would be a nice thing.

So from my point of wiev, I should definetly give it a try.
Of course, it's because of my specific situation. Everyone's circumstances
are different.

It seems to me that it will be all down to picture quality.

Is there enyone using ShowShifter that's happy with the picture quality?
Nik

It's lots of little things, but mainly that TiVo is so "sorted" for this
job.

It certainly is.

But is it changing your Sky box for you?
Can you control it from an IR remote?
Can you record every Tomorrows World from now to never with a few clicks?
Can you start watching back programs as you are recording them?
Can your Mrs use it - no let me rephrase that, does your Mrs LOVE using it?
Does it record suggestions for you?
Is it silent?

This is availbale for TiVo too now.
