In this world of fixed-price internet links, I don't understand
the
difference between bandwidth "wasted" by downloading an easily-ignored
advert,
and bandwidth "wasted" be leaving the computer connected to the internet
while
you read an email.
This isn't 10 years ago, where usage costs were an issue.

At the end of the day it's very much down to
personal preference.
I do understand that some people prefer e-mail, how
ever it's not always
the best solution, eg my particualr gripe is that
by
using yahoo, we are
subject to a footer, which is often longer than the
content of the
e-mail itself, consider the bandwidth this wastes when
sent
to ~500
poeple.
With regards the Fuji, site it's run on a best
effort basis, and I have
no desire to integrate the yahoo group, I may
look
at maintaing an
archive of the yahoo group on the site but thats as far
as
it will go.
I do however still strive the elusive goal of a system
that
integrates
newsgroups, mailling lists and web based forums all into a
single user
friendly system.
