Re: Captuing serial data

Ian,

Thanks.

Communication to the multiplexer is made up of 3 bytes.
Capturing the serial data has confirmed that Byte 1 is 0xFF, Byte 2 is 0x55
and Byte 3 is the front panel keycode.
So if I wanted to send FF 55 01 from HomeVision, how would I do it?
I can't seem to work it out.  The only options I can see are for sending
variables values as either a 2, 4 or 8 byte in HEX.

Has anyone got any ideas?  I'm stuck!

Thanks

Simon

do what you want though

to control it remotely with HV - ie. mimicking pressing buttons on the front
panel.  But the multiplexer doesn't respond to ASCII so I got the PC control
software from the manufacturer.  Can I 'capture' the data sent to the serial
port with the PC software, save it, and somehow get HV to use it - either
directly from HV or via some other software that HV can 'instruct'?
