Thanks to everyone that replied - half a dozen alternative suggestions with= in 2
hours of a 9pm post - not many groups that could match that!

I am using XP (but I'm in the office now, so can't try anything until tomor= row),
but I do need to shut it down gracefully, as if I don't the Wavefinder will= stay
powered up all night (it only seems to power down when Dabbar is shut down<= BR> normally).

Eric - any more info on the killtask command?  I can't find anything o= n the web
about it, and I'm only using W98 in the office...

Not sure which OS you're using - XP has a new command line tool called
killtask to be used in conjunction with tasklist.

If you're on 2k or NT4 there are some resource kit utilities that may be able to help you out. Haven't used them in ages - think they were called plist.exe (to list the processes) and kill.exe

Anyone know how to do it?

I have HS launching WF for some 'sleeping' music, but I don't know how
to
switch it off after half an hour (or whatever).

'C:\Program Files\DAB Bar\DABBar.exe PLAY xxxx' is the command for
starting
it, but I've tried all the obvious ones (KILL, END, STOP etc), but they
don't seem to work.

Thanks

Pete
