VAT and Duty on US Order

Hello all,

I have been dealing with 9th concerning some TIVO stuff and as someone
suggested that if we could get them to ship the goods as Second Hand
with a low value that we would not pay much VAT and Duty.

Now I have no experience with this so I am looking for someone who has
imported for the States before to basically explain how much VAT and
Duty we will pay.

Sorry to be a bit vaigue, I am just trying to get the picture
