Pins 10 and 12 are allocated for Data Comms but there is very little
implementation of this so far.

Pace uses these pins in a number of ways.

On the 9000/9200 series of satellite receivers they were actually used for
Video to ass a second decoder onto a single SCART so that with a suitable
lead you could have a D2-MAC and Filmnet decoder  connected to the only
Decoder scart on the receiver.

On the PRD 800/900 etc they used the data pins to transfer programming from
one receiver to another. They also used them to talk to the Pace Positioner.

Just found an interesting document
http://www.dtg.org.uk/dtgactivities/published/connection_guidelines.pdf

will print it off and read through it.

Thanks Dermot

SCART?

Folks (Keith in particular)

has anyone ever looked into NexTViewLink (aka Q-Link, EasyLink and
various other vendor names)? Its the system where by a VCR can talk to
a TV (via 2 data SCART pins) to query information such as which
channel you're currently watch.

Interested if anyone has ever tried to wire up a PC interface to
read/send this sort of stuff.
