I was talking to a chap the other day who swears blind that grey is 
better than white as a background for LCD projectors - primarily on 
the basis that it gives better reproduction of blacks without 
compromising significantly on colour reproduction. I haven't seen his 
set up, but I think he could have a point - given that it's easy 
enough to repaint the wall, might be worth experimenting?
