You could explain to them what "UK" means :-)

Technical note:

"Great Britain" is the island, comprising mainland England, Scotland and Wales

"UK" is an abbreviation for "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Island", and contains GB, plus the islands that _don't_ have special legislatures (Jersey, Guernsery, Aldernay, Sark, Mann)

"British Isles" incoporates all the islands, including the whole of Ireland. So England, Scotland, Wales, NI, Eire, and the "little ones".
