RE: Splitting Inputs
Rob,
You say the amps have remotely switchable speakers, is the source
selection
also remotely controlable on each amp ?
If so you can simply parallel the inputs using Y splitters.
If the amps are remote from the sources, a single set of Audio only
KAT5's
will allow you to send 2 sources to the amp location and connect them
to
different inputs on the amps.

Subject: [ukha_d] Splitting Inputs
Hi
I am setting up a multi-room Hi-Fi at my new pad and after much
buggering around am going to run two amps at a central location which
in
turn will power two sets of speakers, the amps two speaker outs are
remote switchable so in effect I will have four independent zones of
audio (Albeit though from only one source.). I am doing it this way
because I want the audio to be discreet (Ceiling mounted Kef speakers)
and all the gubbins at a central location.
What I am going to need though is a way of splitting my input (CD,
Minidisk and Digital Source) across two (and possibly three in the
future) amps. Is a custom build from Keith at Kat5.tv is the answer
with
some v.short patch leads? If I could find a hi-fi separate size
splitter
that would be even better. Remember it would need to be a permanent
split not a switched splitter. HAVING SAID THAT if their was a remote
controllable switchable splitter I could have multi zone and multi
source!!!.....drool!
Thanks in advance.
Rob
