As a *thouroughly* dissatisfied owner of several of these Quattro switches,
(one after another after another, etc..) can I advise against them..

As well as being £80, they introduce *terrible* audio crosstalk
between the
channels, and quite obvious video contamination.

I replaced the one I was using finally with a "2797R" A/V Source
Selector

It's IR controllable, and has S-Video, composite and Stereo Audio for each
of the six Channels (SAT, DVD, CATV, VCR, AUX1, AUX2) two of the channels
are presented as SCART, the rest as Phono + Svid Mini-din.

Sorry - memory was a bit vague on these - the unit I was thinking of is
actually Scart based and is an AV switcher - I believe it handles 4 Scart
inputs (you could ignore the video and I assume it switches stereo audio).
In the Lektropacks ad it is called a Quattro and comes with IR remote
control. Cost is £79.95.
Also there is available the ATEL unit in the US (link below). This is
much more useful to HA enthusiasts as it is a board controlled by RS232
serial commands that switches 16 sources to 2 outputs or 8 stereo to 2
outputs - the sources can be audio or video so you can have 8 video + 8
audio to 2 outputs and any source to any output including same source to
both. I am about to order a couple of these myself so if anyone else wants
to jump on my order to split the shipping costs then contact me OFF list.
Who knows if there's a few we might get a price break.

Hi Kevin

I had a quick look at the Keene site but couldn't find any IR controlled
audio switches, do you have any product info?

I also couldn't locate Lektropak! :-)

Thanks

Tracey
