How about one of InitialStyle's conference centres? (e.g.
http://www.initialstyle.co.uk/theobald_park.html). I went to a
wedding at one of their places a while back, and it was absolutely
fab. Typically you get run of a big house (with conference rooms, a
bar, lounge etc) and chalet style accommodation in the grounds. These
are infinitely more pleasant than a Travel Lodge, and costs, whilst a
little higher, are comparable to travel lodge at weekends - where I
stayed was fifty quid a night. The only catch is - I have no idea how
much extra we would have to pay for use of a meeting room or two.
