It was
a bit of a wierd night in some ways though...
Confusing for me - and possibly painful for the person making the
statement if I ever remember who he was as I had had a few beers (remember
what
I'm like after beer eh PaulG?) - was someone walking up, shaking me by the
hand
and saying "So you're Phil ... You're not as fat and old as I was expecting
you
to be."
Another intreauging one was ... "At last ... the legendary Phil ..."
(legendary?!?!?)
However a quick message for the person who, while I was talking to
them
said to me "She's got a nice backside..." nodding over at Paul Gordon's
SWMBO,
and then added "... do you know them? Hell, don't tell them I
said
that!" ... Well, Wendy seemed suprised to be told that she had a nice bum
but
Paul just nodded, said he knew, and thanked you for your
comment!
The crowd - as last year - were great. At the risk of having a group
hug
moment I have to say that within the group members I've actually met
over
the last couple of years, without exception, you are a great crowd of
people. Always willing to help each other out and often travelling
significant
distances (James Hoye for example) to help fellow group members in pulling
or
installing cabling and kit. We might all be classed as "sad bastards" by
our
other halves but it's a great group of people we have
here.
