Keith,

I have a question, if you don't mind.. when talking about the seperation of
LV and Mains, especially having no LV and Mains in the same pattress box,
what if the reason for the LV cabling is to provide a data/control interface
for the Mains side? an example would be a wired RS-232 controlled dimmer
pack...

I think what I'm getting at, is when does the regs stop thinking of
something as being part of the infrastructure, and when does it become an
appliance?

do the regs effectively stop you from building LV controlled units which fit
inside a pattress box as a "wall switch" ?
