Thanks for the info.
My problem is I want to run the cables down to the wall light socket,
so
wont be able to keep apart.
Could I shield the LV cables in anyway?

Cables running parallel to each other shouldn't induce voltage -
induction
happens when wires cross. Shouldn't be a problem for basic switching
but
induced noise can cause problems with IR circuits. Try and keep any
mains
and LV cables at least 50mm apart.
