Careful Dave..
I got a version of one of these controllers, as I was considering
supplying
PC's with them installed to my customers.
I have seen problems with Epox and Soyo motherboards, Asus were okay,
Abit
were mostly alright (although problems with the intel BX based ones)
I got two problems:
1) The control circuit seemed to fool the motherboard into thinking the
fan
had stopped spinning as it dropped the speed. on most new mobo's a CPU
fan
failure causes instant power off, to save the CPU from heat damage
2) The fan would "stutter" (only on Epox boards) making it very
loud, and
not giving very good cooling..
As always, your mileage may vary, but I'd be tempted to ether accept
that
hi-perf PC's will be a bit louder, or get something like one of the
fanles
Eden boards from Viatech. (drool)

Hi All,
Just found this and thought that it might be useful. It is a fan speed
controller for reducing the noise of fans in PC's etc.
I am going to be ordering a couple myself.
