A fine explaination again!

Now I understand. At the risk of getting on your nerves, I've also
got some LEDs that I can't get to work :(

(Maplin part no UK48 5mm 2ma)

As you may know I've been messing with the Basic Stamp and I've gone
through the book they supply with a kit. I thought I was doing quite
well.. which is why I started ordering bits.. the LEDs was one of hte
parts I went for...

My thinking was :

+ve --- 220 Ohm Resistor---LED --- +ve

which is the sort of layout I was doing with things from the book...
as you have probably already guessed the LED does not light.. :(

I've swapped the 'direction' of the LED legs and nothing's changed..
