When the Passive sensor on the camera detects movement the IR starter sends a record signal to your standard video recorder to start recording, shortly after it send a stop signal if no movement detected to stop video

Wickes are selling the RESPONSE CCTV KIT's marked up as their own Wickes brand
 
The basic black and white cameras are £29
 
The black and white cameras with built in PIR's are £39 ideal for Home Automators !
 
I bought a video IR starter for £15 when Homebase sold off the response gear so this will connect to the PIR camera
