Do you mean shared amongst heterogenous devices or shared amongst you and
your neighbours?
The wireless home would have it's local wlan dedicated to your house only,
connected via cable/fatter wlan link to the outside world, so the
dedication
is there in that sense.

IT's a way off before all this would happen, but already we have flash
upgradable amps, digital speakers, streaming audio players, games consoles
with broadband connection.  I can't see it being too many more decades
before they all converge to a small no. of standard ways to
inter-communicate.
(What happened to HAVI anyone?), though as with any technological era there
will always be those on the bleeding edge who need that bit more.....
