The B&Q range is manufactured by Philex, who are both manufacturer and
importer.

As my company does a lot of cabling, I have an account with them. Their kit
is excellent. I have not had a single faulty patch lead or module out of
several hundreds ordered.

The keystone modules and faceplates are of good quality, look nice and
professional, and are nice and easy to work with.

The Soho Data Cabinet seems a little flimsy, as it has no back, however,
when properly fixed onto a wall, it looks pretty trick, and is flexible
enough to house a bunch of kit (ADSL router and a Switch for instance) as
well as the

I am even looking at the possibility of using one of the book PC systems
(10" wide) as a mini-server to have a perfect little solution for a
teensy
office.

The kit is, IMO, great, and the BQ pricing makes it even more attractive to
Joe Punter. I get a discount by going direct that's worthwhile for a major
project, but tbh, the single unit pricing in B&Q obviouslly reflects
the
moooooonster bying quantities they can throw at someething like this.

That right Mark? ;)

Ian.

Howdy,

I was wondering if anyone had bought, or even had a look at, the B & Q
Cat5 patch panels?

I'm about to start Cat5-ing and since their cable, tester, punch-down
tool etc. are nice and cheap I'll probably buy from them.

The patch panels look reasonable quality but my local stores don't stock
them (and I'd like a look before I buy) so if anyone has seen them and
can offer an opinion on them I'd be grateful. (Or maybe Mark H. could
give an unbiased review? :-)

Thanks,

David P.
