I would think this is pretty impossible Eamon... in effect, you need all your applicances to be "status capable"

I have a workaround using Girder and a UIRT, but it's not complee yet, so I can't vouch for it's long term reliability:

Basically, you mask off the IR RX on the appliances, and relay everything through the Girder PC, so that *ALL* IR commands come from the PC, therefore, it can keep a "state" diagram. (unless you lose power, of course)

Subject: [ukha_d] TWO WAY IR ?

I've been setting up some scehdules etc on HV for IR control of my vcr, and now that I have a webserver running hv webserver, I am adding some macros etc to control this over the net. The only thing is reliabiltiy, I am happy enough with X10 reliability, it works 99.9% of the time, so am willing to overlook not being able to get confirmation of the actions, but IR is a little less reliable in my opinion when it comes to setting your vcr to record a specific channel.

Does anyone have any sloutions to confirming wether or not your vcr, or any IR equipmetn has been set up the way you programmed it ?
Eamon
